Carter Humphries

Extension Agent, 4-H Youth Development

Carter graduated in May 2014 from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Animal and Poultry Sciences. She then earned a Master’s Degree in Agricultural, Leadership, and Community Education with an emphasis in STEM programming, also through Virginia Tech, in May 2016. Carter went on to receive her teaching license in 2017 while teaching various animal science courses at the Richmond Technical Center (RTC). She served as the Future Farmers of America (FFA) adviser for the four years she taught at RTC. Before entering formal education, Carter interned with Virginia Cooperative Extension in Bedford and Chesterfield counties. In 2019 she became a 4-H Agent in Henrico County. Her favorite programs include in-school programming (especially Embryology) and summer camps. Carter believes 4-H programming can be beneficial to all youth.
