Carter Humphries

Extension Agent, 4-H Youth Development

Carter began her position as the newest Henrico 4-H Extension Agent in July of 2019. She graduated in May 2014 from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Animal and Poultry Sciences. She then earned a Master’s Degree in Agricultural, Leadership, and Community Education with an emphasis in STEM programming, also through Virginia Tech, in May 2016. Carter went on to receive her teaching license in 2017 while teaching various animal science courses at the Richmond Technical Center (RTC). She served as the Future Farmer's of America (FFA) adviser for the four years she taught at RTC. Before entering formal education, Carter interned with Virginia Cooperative Extension in Bedford and Chesterfield counties. Since moving to Henrico in 2015, Carter has also worked closely with Richmond City Cooperative Extension to provide 4-H programming to youth in Richmond City. Carter believes 4-H programming can be beneficial to all youth and aims to provide quality programming for the youth of Henrico County.
